Wolverine Brass - Percolator
Wolverine Brass was a short lived band from Louisville, Kentucky that existed in the mid 2000’s. Aside from Shipping News, there didn’t seem to be a whole lot of music like this happening in town at the time. I saw them whenever I could, and have tried to collect all of their recordings. Whether it was a conscious decision or not, there’s some Slint/Rodan influences that come through in the music. I think that happens with most Louisville bands because of the environment we exist in, but some show it more than others. I wouldn’t write this band off as a rehashed version of Slint or Rodan, because they offer more than just that sound. Their only full length is available on Shirtkiller’s webside, and if you search around Louisvillehardcore.com’s forums you can find some unreleased demos.
They were a great band, enjoy.
